Opt-Outs & Opt-Ins

Mechanisms for letting clients opt in or out of email, SMS, and call messages — important for HIPAA, TCPA, and GDPR compliance.

By default, Apptoto is willing to send email, sms/text, and calls to all of your clients. However you and your clients can prevent certain types of messages from being sent to them.

Providing clients with the option to opt-in and opt-out of various types of appointment and marketing messages is important for multiple reasons.

For healthcare providers, patients should be given the option to opt-in to (or have obvious ways to opt out of) receiving reminders, appointment messages, and marketing messages per the “Privacy Rule” portion of HIPAA.

Similarly, there are various regulations in place in the EU and US that prevent businesses from delivering marketing messages to consumers without collecting consent first.
